 The Centre for Suicide Prevention (CSP) and the Alberta Centre for Injury Control & Research (ACICR) are pleased to invite you to:

It’s Everybody’s Business
Alberta Communities Take Action to Reduce Suicide, A Learning Symposium, March 7th and 8th, with a recertification day for CSP Trainers March 9th, 2012. The symposium will take place at Hotel Arts in Calgary, Alberta.

Deadline for registration is the February 29th 2012.

 

Symposium highlights include:

  • Keynote Speaker: Mr. Bill Wilkerson Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of the Global Business and Economic Roundtable on Addiction and Mental Health will share ideas on how to focus suicide prevention efforts in the workplace
     
  • Learn about the Community Helpers Project currently offered in a number of Alberta communities
     
  • Discuss adapting suicide prevention strategies for Aboriginal communities
     
  • Network with researchers, practitioners, and other stakeholders from industry and business, schools, youth organizations and communities
     
  • On the second day, share your thoughts in small group discussions about what is currently happening in suicide prevention in Alberta – the successes and challenges and what needs to happen to move the issue forward
