Alberta Communities Take Action to Reduce Suicide, A Learning Symposium, March 7th and 8th, with a recertification day for CSP Trainers March 9th, 2012. The symposium will take place at Hotel Arts in Calgary, Alberta.
Deadline for registration is the February 29th 2012.
Symposium highlights include:
- Keynote Speaker: Mr. Bill Wilkerson Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of the Global Business and Economic Roundtable on Addiction and Mental Health will share ideas on how to focus suicide prevention efforts in the workplace
- Learn about the Community Helpers Project currently offered in a number of Alberta communities
- Discuss adapting suicide prevention strategies for Aboriginal communities
- Network with researchers, practitioners, and other stakeholders from industry and business, schools, youth organizations and communities
- On the second day, share your thoughts in small group discussions about what is currently happening in suicide prevention in Alberta – the successes and challenges and what needs to happen to move the issue forward
